Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Shortness Of Breath

Exactly a week ago, I accidentally inhaled cinnamon powder through the mouth (coated the bottom of the tablespoon) which produced cough and shortness of breath immediately after. I have been taking my albuterol inhaler 3 times a day ever since (never needed to before), and started Flovent on Sunday. I have Crohn s disease and am on immunosuppressants, so I m really worried this triggered an inflammation cascade :( I ve had asthma since I was little but have rarely needed to use my inhaler, only around cats. Is this asthma exacerbation and if so, how long will it last?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think an inflammation happened triggering asthma. I think the inhaler can help reduce inflammation. Also immunosuppressants you are using for arthritis can help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
