Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough In A Child

My 4yr old son has a aggressive cough. His doctor prescribed him a cough syrup which has the same active ingredients as Robitussin DM, which he had already been taking twice a day for 2 weeks prior for a cold. His cough is dry, no phlegm, no other sympton but a runny nose. Any advice?

From the symptoms,it seems your son might be having an allergic cough as he is not having any other associated clinical symptoms.
You can try an anti-allergic cough syrup containing fexofenadine. If symptoms still persists, get an x-ray done, and the routine blood counts.
Visit to a paediatrician might be required.
