Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough With Phlegm In The Chest
I have been coughing up heavy flem on occasion for the last few months, & now that the weather has turned colder, the congestion has gotten more frequent... No health insurance, so I can t afford to go to a doctor,...& the last few times I went, (has been years) they only wanted to to refer me to someone else, & hand me a bill... (If I did that in my line of work,...I wouldn t be working very long...!!!) Thanks for your time! John

Hi,
I hope you do not smoke. It may be an infection, viral or bacterial. To start an antibiotic you would require a doctor. Do saline gargles. Stop smoking and if doesn't improve you may wanna take an antibiotic.
