Suggest Treatment For Severe Diarrhea And Loss Of Appetite

I have not had a normal bowel movement in about one month. I can t eat anything without getting diarrhea. I have had a great loss of appetite. I am also reluctant to eat anything other than chicken noodle soup as food makes me have the diarrhea immediately. I just don t feel very good. Pepto helps soothe my stomach. The pain in my gut is not that intense. It is mostly an issue of not being able to eat food without my stomach getting mad and rumbling and me running back and forth to the toilet. I have had almost no nausea. Thanks!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* Diarrhea with loss of appetite since 1 month is an alarming sign of possible inflammatory bowel disease as Crohn`s disease, ulcerative colitis or else.

* Immediately consult your doc for proper evaluation and best line of therapy for the same.

Meanwhile, you can have probiotics capsules for basic gut flora support and maintain hydration with more amount of liquid intake.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr.Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
