Suggest Treatment For Severe Dizziness And Nausea While On Bumetanide

I started taking a new water pill about 3 weeks ago, Bumetanide 0.5 MG once daily and I wonder if it could be causing these symptoms. I woke up 3 days ago to a spinning room and nausea. I don t know if the nausea was from the dizziness or whether it was another symptom. It lasted all day. The nausea went away but I still occasionally feel weak and light headed. I stopped taking the water pill and still am not back to normal.

Hi,

The water pill does take water out of our body, besides this, it also causes low blood pressure (hence used for Hypertension). For these reasons it commonly causes weakness and dizziness. It can also cause fainting by lowering blood pressure. So your symptoms are very likely to be caused by the drug. It may take few days to settle after stopping the drug. So you should see for few days. If symptoms do not improve, or worsening then please see your Dr for proper assessment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
