Suggest Treatment For Severe Dizziness And Pain In The Head

Yes my son received a concussion on Friday night after he had books fall on his head from his locker, then immediately after getting hit in the back of his head at wrestling practice. Since then he now has timing on his ears he is still dizzy his head hurts and he is seeing spots and sensitive to light. His cat scan showed all clear. Should he go back to the doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Because your son has vision changes and is sensitive to light, it might be best to have him go back to the doctor. In this case an MRI might be superior to CT in determining concussion and other minor changes in the brain due to trauma. CT is best to rule out hemorrhage and bone structure changes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
