Suggest Treatment For Severe Dizziness When Diagnosed With Sleep Apnea

I was using a Apap machine for one week for titration because I was just diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and 2 of the 7 days I experienced dizziness and lightheadness when I woke up in the morning and getting out of my bed. Is this common? I have not got the results yet of my titration study and told it would take 2-4 was for the results.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Dizziness following sleep apnea can be due to less sleep in the night & over-sleepiness in day time. Treatment of sleep apnea would help dizziness.

It would be by weight loss (physical exercises), CPSP machine for respiratory assistance in the night or surgery if required.

Please consult a physician / ENT surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
