Hello, my left ear has been plugged up for a few days. I have tried to unplug it with the over the counter ear wax softener called Debrox . No success....Is there some other method you can advise me to do? I have no pain in the ear, it just feels plugged. Thanks!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe ear congestion . Well there can be many reason for ear congestion . like wax buildup , water bubble or infection of ear , You can try hydrogen peroxide once to soften the wax . If this method doesn't work then consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine you ear with otoscope . Doctor may also order CT scan to confirm the diagnosis and rule out condition like ear infection and eustachian tube dysfunction . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin ) at least for a week along with decongestants . For now you apply hot dry compresses to external ear , keep it dry and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and discomfort .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
