Suggest Treatment For Severe Eczema

Hi. I have severe eczema, and the only thing that seems to control it is steroids. The past two weeks from scratching in my sleep my the skin on my breast have broken and look like it is burned. What could this be from, the thinning of my skin from the steroids or something else

Hi,

It seems that probably you may be having either irritant or allergic contact dermatitis. Kindly consult dermatologist.

I would suggest..

- oral steroids in tappering dose
- antihistaminics
- antibiotic course for short period
- local application of antibiotics till secondary infection is cleared
- tacrolimus ointment to apply on dry lesions
- avoid local steroid as it might produce atrophy,striae,telangiectasia

Have patience,avoid contact with suspected irritants or allergens. Take regular treatment.
