Suggest Treatment For Severe Foot Pain

hello, this is shankar, i need some advice. My mother is having intense pain in the sole of one of her foot. Its so bad that she is not even able to properly plant her foot on ground while walking. It had been a lingering pain since quite some time now. But she did not take proper medication. Unfortunately the pain has become very severe now. Do you have any suggestion regarding what could be wrong?
