Suggest Treatment For Severe Gall Bladder And Colon Pain

went to er 5 times this year for sever pain attacks. I had gall bladder taken out July 30th this year. I was then having a routine colon ospopy(sorry about spelling) 2 weeks ago. I followed the instruction and started drinking my stuff at noon. everything went fine and went to bed a 10 and then at 11:30 I broke out in sweats, threw up(and still out the other end too) and then bam...Here comes the SEVER constant pain AGAIN... I ended up in er again that nite with no answers as usual. But I should have never had another attack like that, that s why I had my Gall bladder taken out... Why is this happening again??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, the current pain in abdomen, sweating and vomiting after ingestion of colon preparation liquid (as Peglac) suggests fluid electrolyte imbalance rather than a gall bladder issue. An intake of anti emetic as ondancetron with or without proton pump inhibitor as lansoprazole settles the issue soon within fraction of time. However, details of any radiology data or other reports can be helpful to reveal further details on clinical grounds.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
