General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Gastritis is inflammation/irritation of the stomach. It can occur with food poisoning, food poisoning can cause gastritis (vomiting, pain) or/and enteritis (diarrhea).

So it is possible both are correct.

Gastritis can also occur from different causes eg in persons with a history of reflux

There are medications that can be used to help decrease the vomiting and any discomfort that you may be feeling eg pepto bismol, dramamine
Reflux medication would help with any pain

I hope this helps
