Suggest Treatment For Severe Hair Loss

Hi Doc, I am a 29 years old girl and I am observing excessive hair loss for last one and half month. I have consulted even a renowned doc and on medication of Follihair + adgain for two months. I have observed reduction in hair fall but it still persist. Does this can have any relation to thryoid as i have hair at my chin. Please also suggest what should I change in my daily routine that can help me reduce weight but also keeps the nutrients sufficient to be at par with my meds. Thanks Khushi

Hello,

Of course, this may be related to thyroid issues. I think you may be suffering from hypothyroidism and it can cause hair loss and weight gain.

You should take levothyroxine to substitute the thyroid hormone levels and this will improve hair and you will lose weight.

The hair at chin may be related to lack of estrogen hormones normally caused by PCOS.

This also causes weight gain and hair loss. You should check thyroid hormone levels and also do an abdominal ultrasound to check ovaries.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
