Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi, i m a female student (23 years old). i shifted to a hostel before 3 months and the quality of water is really poor here. it contains a lot of chlorine. i have observed that the majority of the girls here have the same issue and their scalp is visible. my seniors told me that there is no way out. i recently noticed that my crown area and some other portions of scalp are visible. i started applying onion juice with castor oil and vitamin E oil. the hair fall continues though. i cover my head when i go out simply because i don t want people to stair at my scalp. i m really depressed and need help.
Severe hair fall as per your query seems to be due to excess chlorinated water in your region which is leading to changes in hair texture and damage. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination and get your skin patch test, blood test and physical examination done and take supplements like Vitamin A ,Omega-3 and Vitamin E. Try to wash hair with fresh water. apply Minoxidil spray. Take Indian goose berry powder with water once a day and use almond oil. Massage scalp with olive oil and cover hair while exposing to dust.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
