Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache

It started with a slight headache which went away after a few days which I thought was due to some business stress . It came back after few days which I thought it was also related to cervical for which I also started having physiotherapy. I am having a headache which is like a tight band or like blocked head since the last 2 months or so. I am also taking a light dose of anti anxiety medicine. Please suggest cure.

I carefully read your question and would explain that your symptoms seem to be compatible with tension type headache.

Are you taking any painkillers? I would not recommend taking regularly painkillers for a prolonged time, as they could lead to chronic daily headache.

I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a careful physical examination.

An antidepressant like amytriptiline, would help reduce your hedache and also anxiety. Other treatment options would be SSRI class antidepressants, which are known to have fewer adverse effects than amytriptiline.
