Suggest Treatment For Severe Hearing Loss On The Right Ear
Hi Doctors I am having a hearing loss mostly in the morning only only on the left last month i had severe flue and after flue i lost both hearing and my dr said it is becos of flue and gave some drops - BUT it didnt heal then checked ENT Specialist and after the tests - he said , my right hear is very week though drums are still good and recommend me to have hearing aids But after 2 weeks now - I am much better on right side but left like early days - PROBLEM IS IN THE MORNING - after lunch - after exercises in the evening very much better in the evening please advise what should i do morning time - feeling like blocked , kind of hooooo sound , thanks ASHROFF FROM BOTSWANA
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history and concerns regarding the reduced hearing on the left side more so only in the morning . It is known that flu can cause lots of problems and particularly in the respiratory and ear systems. This is basically due to the lots of edema that one gets after flu.
I would suggest you the following: Get an opinion of the ENT again so that we can have the real picture. Also go for preliminary Audiometry. Take a course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine medicines. Plain water steam inhalations. Bed-rest. All these things together will help you to get a cure.
