Suggest Treatment For Severe Heart Palpitations

I woke up last nite with my heart rate going extremly fast; faster than I ve ever felt before So fast it felt like if it went any faster I would pass out I believe it was the event that woke me up I sat down a nd concentrated on trying to relax so I could calm down My heart rate then slowly went down then back to normal What would cause that to happen?

Hello,

Very likely this was a panic attack causing your heart to race at night. On the other hand, it is safer to have an ECG done to rule out conductive heart problems as the cause of your palpitations.

If the ECG does not show any abnormalities then very likely this was a panic attack.
