Suggest Treatment For Severe Itchiness In The Vagina

Hello!
I had a doctors appt on thursday and got a quick swab done on my vagina (no specula and she didnt go far in). I have been having abnormal periods and had a lot of extra discharge that went away after i finally had a period and then had itching after that. I recieved a call today to book and appointment, but not until the 24th! Does this mean ive tested positive for an std and have to wait until then to find out?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
The symptoms you have suggest a yeast infection, which is sexually transmitted. So the call for the appointment seems to be for a gynecologist's consultation.
Usually specific medicines like Metranidozole orally is given to both sex partners along with local application in form of vaginal pessaries/ ointments.
Thanks.
