Suggest Treatment For Severe Itchiness In The Vaginal Area

Hello my name is Alexis, I recently began to itch in my feminine area about four days ago and I thought it may be a yeast infection, so I got 1 day cream to remove it but my itching did not go away. Yesterday I began my period but it wasn t really a heavy flow and today it was so I used a tampon and when I went to change it a piece of what looked like skin came out with the tampon it had spots of blood and appeared to be a white sort of pink color and seemed like a layer of my vaginal wall. My regular OBGYN isn t in and I need fast help or advice I m not sure if it is a yeast infection or just shedding skin being that I am on birth control and only get my period threeomths at a time.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Alexis
I share your concern.
Looking at your description it seems to be vaginal infection most probably Candida or bacterial vaginosis

In my opinion you should see a GP or your family physician immediately for urine culture and vaginal swab culture.

you may require a course of antibiotics like metronidazole or Fluconazole group of drugs or vaginal pessaries if need be.

Meanwhile have plenty of fluids, maintenan good hygiene
Hope this helps you
Best wishes
