Suggest Treatment For Severe Jaw Pain

Today, I woke up at about 4am, and the left side of my jaw was locked up. I started freaking out, and it got worse. Eventually, it got a bit better, but now I can't open my jaw nearly as much as I can. Which makes it very difficult to chew. I really need a way to make my jaw unlock, because it's really difficult to do anything.. Please help.

Hi,read your question and can understand your concern.

Difficulty in mouth opening can be due to a variety of cause including an erupting third molar ,TMJ problems ,sub mucous fibrosis and many others.

I would advice you to take a painkiller like ibuprofen for relieve of pain immediately.Muscle relaxants will also help.
Taking a soft diet is advised and application of moist heat will provide relief.

Consult your oral surgeon and have the reason for the difficulty in opening and get it treated.
Continue doing simple TMJ exercises.

Hope this helps.
Thanks and regards.
