Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain

Hi my name is Emily and I had fairly severe knee pain for about 2 weeks that got progressively worse and then this week just disappeared. I believe it was the LCL(inside of the knee) giving me troubles but the strange part was that the pain got even worse while in the hot shower. What would this indicate? Also since the pain has subsided for now should I go see a doctor or wait for the pain to come back? I have already asked a local doctors nurse and was told they wouldn t be able to tell me anything unless I was currently having symptoms.

Hi there.

ACL tear along with meniscus tear is a common cause of kneepads and instability. It requires arthroscopic reconstruction by a Sports Medicine specialist. Keep the knee in a hinged knee brace. Take pain killers. Avoid climbing stairs, kneeling, squatting or cross leg sitting.
