Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain

I hurt my knee in a basketball came a little over a week ago. The pain has gotten worse and i have tried to figure out what it is and whether to go to the doctor or not. It s around the medial meniscus area, i have done several tests on it and i get pain while doing these. So, do you think this is a torn meniscus or something like bursitis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for asking a question at HCM

I will be glad to answer it for you

Yes, if it is severe pain, and not reduced by medications, then it can be meniscal tear

You need to meet an orthopedicean, get an x ray of the knee done and rulout the cause.

The treatment will be based on the x ray report and examination findings

Hope this helps

Best Regards

Dr Chaithanya
