General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to arthritis or ligament problems. Overweight will be the underlying cause and excess weight causes strain on the knee joint and leads to symptoms.

As a first-line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

You have to lose extra weight through exercises and diet control. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedic and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
