Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain

I am having left knee pain. The pain shoots up my entire leg making it difficult to walk. Just seems to be the one knee. Do not know if this may have something to do with my back or if it is the beginning of knee problems. Should I request a xray of the knee? Thanks for your help. Deb Gurganus

take x-ray knee joint and consult orthopaedic surgeon. might be having torn ligament with referred pain down ward. give rest to joint and take knee cap. apply analgesic ointment and tablet combiflam twice daily after food. final treatment will be advised after diagnosis by orthopaedic surgeon
