Suggest Treatment For Severe Knee Pain

Hello! I ve had problems with my right knee for ten years or so that I believe was caused by an injury falling off of a jet ski. I have bone on bone. For the past three years I have had euflexa injections every 6 - 8 months that seem to help the discomfort. I tend to create a lot of fluid in my knee so it s always swollen. The last injection series was in September. The pain in my knee seems to be getting worse. If I stress it like today cleaning my garage for 3 hours, I can barely walk. Is it time for a knee replacement? I just turned 60 on the 10th of February.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Most probably you have succumbed a ligament or tendon injury.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
