General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Firstly, are you on medications like steroids for COPD? Age-related wearing off of the joints is very common especially in COPD patients who are known to take steroids as a part of their treatment leading to bone erosion (osteoporosis) which can weaken the bones.

In my opinion, kindly consult an orthopedician for a clinical examination and serum calcium levels and bone density test. The doctor may put you on vitamin D3 supplements and calcium supplements and exercises which can reduce the pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Riyanka Chail, General & Family Physician
