Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I am 40 years old and in fairly decent health. I was diagnosed with Mono Neuritis Multiplex in 2005. I suffered severe pain from the nerves in my legs starting to regenerate from what I was told at Duke Medical Center. I still have no feeling in my left leg. My current , more immediate symptoms lie in a mental capacity from back to back deaths of my mother, father, and grandmother who was more of a mother than my own. I guess what I am asking is I have been on Fetzima 120 mg for a year, seen NO help and been prescribed valium, now klonopin .5 and .5 valium 2 times daily and I still see hardly any relief in my grief, mental health. I regularly see a therapist for talk therapy. I am wondering if I need to be on a higher dose of antianxiety medicine or even trying Xanax.
As per my clinical experience, the current presentation suggests higher doses of anti-anxiety medications is a major reason for the leg cramps.
The same should be discussed with your consultant and managed in accordance with that. Addition of assisted physiotherapy, anti-inflammatory drugs along with magnesium and zinc supplements will give better assistance.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
