Suggest Treatment For Severe Loose Stool In A Child
My Kid is 13 month old, he is having lose motion for about past three days, doctor suggested zifi50 for three days, 5ml twice a day, so far 3 doses are over, but still there is no improvement, previously the motion was in yellow colour, now it was in green colour with some different smell is it a side effect of zifi.
Offer additional breast milk to your baby or any ORS (oral rehydration solutions) and feed him regularly. The infection needs 5-14 days to be controlled so be patients and wait other two days to see the results of the treatment.
The poop color indicates how the baby's organism reacts to food. The yellow color of stools means that the milk is moving throughout his body system quickly and green when this process slows down. Because of infection the nutrition process has changed and turned the stools in green color.
Zifi dry may cause diarrhea as a side effect as well so if diarrhea continues for other two or three days discuss with the pediatrician the option of changing the drug.
Hope this is helpful. Dr.Albana

Hello, I read your message carefully and understood your concern. Most common causes of diarrhea in infants are viral gastroenteritis and troubles with feeding.
