Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Abdominal Pain

I had my gall bladder removed in June, 16. Many big stones. I am not an alcohol drinker. I am a dedicated school bus driver and also cannot miss work. Now I am experiencing the described upper stomach pain, spasms, severe diarrhea and vomiting. The vomiting has stopped for now but the diarrhea is almost like a great mud slide with loud noise and pressure. The upper belly pain persists. I am also diabetic taking Metformin once daily.

Hello,

Some tests can give us some clues about what is the status inside your body.

The tests are:

1. USG Whole abdomen
2. Liver Function Test
3. Serum amylase

Although, after gall bladder removal, it is sometimes normal that there will be diarrhea. But it should disappear. Anyway, without taking any risk, we will on a safer side if you do all these exams.

Meanwhile, your diarrhea may be reduced by the following tips:

1. Go easy on the fat. Avoid high-fat foods, fried and greasy foods, and fatty sauces and gravies for at least a week after surgery.

Instead, choose fat-free or low-fat foods. Low-fat foods are those with no more than 3 grams of fat a serving. Check labels and follow the serving size listed.

2. Increase the fiber in your diet. This can help normalize bowel movements. Add soluble fiber, such as oats and barley, to your diet.

But be sure to increase the amount of fiber slowly, such as over several weeks, because too much fiber at first can make gas and cramp worse.

3. Eat smaller, more-frequent meals. This may ensure a better mix with available bile.

A healthy meal should include small amounts of lean protein, such as poultry, fish or fat-free dairy, along with vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.

With all the tests result, please post another question or consult a doctor. Do not worry and please do the tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
