Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello my name is Scarlett, I am a registered nurse who lives in a state where there is no continuity of care. I had a back injury in 2003. After ignoring the pain for so long in my lower back. I have had nerve blocks and had been given 6 injections at once for 3 years after the injury occurred. This is why I stopped and overlooked the pain. It wasn t helping. They did those procedures and either I didn t need it or someone didn t do it properly. I know that I am in constant pain. I can t find a doctor that is credible to treat this. This is consuming my life. I can t perform all of my duties as a wife, mom or nurse.
Hello, As you mentioned that you had a back injury years ago, assuming that you underwent all the necessary imaging modalities for it and after that went for the treatment options.
The pain is there for a long duration and the treatment you have taken has not provided much relief. First thing I would like to suggest you is get an MRI spine done and visit a spinal surgeon with the results. Depending on the results you will be provided with appropriate management plan.
For now for pain relief, ibuprofen or aceclofenac are good options. As well as calcium supplementation and wearing a back supporting belt while you are working can help. Along with these, physiotherapy has also found to be effective in such cases. Hope this helps. Feel free to contact for any further query in the future.
