Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain That Radiates To Groin Area
I have severe back pain in the lower back. It feels like a pinch at times with extreme dull pain that radiates over to my side, sometimes completely taking my breath away. The pain at times also feels like it comes from my hip and radiates to my groin. I m setting up an appointment with a picture doctor soon. This pain has gone on for 4 years. Any advise or possible answer to what is causing the pain.
Looking at your description lower back pain which radiates to the groin might be related to kidney stone, genitourinary infection or acute lumbago. I would advise you for a battery of investigation like urine culture, x-ray, KUB or an ultrasound KUB (Kidney, ureter and bladder).
You can take analgesic like paracetamol or diclofenac for symptomatic pain relief. You should take lots of fluids orally, at times small stone can expel out with urine. If you can write back to me with relevant information like your age, whether it is one sided or bilateral pain, do you have any history of injury? So that I will be able to tell you more accurately.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to ask for follow up question and I will gladly answer you.
Best wishes, Dr B R Hudda
