Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain With Numbness

I m having major lower back pain. I am 35 years old and been power lifting/body building for 20 plus years. I have a B.S. Kinesiology and M.S. Applied Exercise Physiology. About a week ago is injured my lower back while performing barbell shrugs at extremely high weight. My lower back is killing me and staying numb from lower-mid glut to mid lat. What could it be? Slipped disc? Nerve??

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
Your problems seem to be a spinalproblem ( spondylosis/disc problem ) following the injury you received recently...it has resulted in nerve pressure/kinking leading to your complaints.
you should get MRI /CT scan of the spine to get exact cause of the problem..Consult an orthopedic surgeon for proper advise about manageme t ( medication/physiotherapy or zurgery as per need.)
Thanks.
