Suggest Treatment For Severe Mid Abdominal Pain

Have experienced fairly severe mid abdominal pain on my left side twice in the past month. Pain came on gradually right when I went to bed and increased in intensity to a point where I seriously considered going to the Emergency Room. The first episode lasted approximately 40 minutes and eventually eased off to where there was no pain. Last night I had another episode of the same thing except the intensity became less but continued for several hours and finally subsided to no pain. These are the only times I ve had something like this happen. Any thoughts on what it could be or should I be seeking medical help soon?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to several causes. For further assessment you may require complete hemogram, ultrasound abdomen after surgeon consultation. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Take soft balanced diet. Keep your self hydrated. Take hygienic food and water. You may require antibiotics after consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
