i had a complete hystectectomy three years ago and have been using Vivelle Dot since day 1. I am a long-time migraine sufferer and my gynecologist was hopeful that with the end to menstrual hormone fluctuations my migraines would significantly improve. Although, thanks to the hormone patch I have experienced no menopausal symptoms whatsoever, my migraines have not improved at all. Prior to the hysterectomy I could go three weeks with no migraine. I am lucky to make it two weeks at this point. My migraine intensity and duration has worsened, causing ER visits in some cases. I see a neurologist for treatment but am not seeing improvement. I am wondering if the cause of my migraines could be the hormone patch itself, and rather than preventing them, it could be the culprit? Is there evidence at hrt causes migraines? Do you have any recommendations? I am becoming quite desperate as migraines are greatly impacting the quality of my life. Thank you
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, I could guess it that your main concern is migraine, and I would like to point it out that this is functional disease and you need to try to come out of this even without the help of medicines and for that better try to control your thoughts, be positive, and practical, try some relaxation therapy, yoga, meditation these would be much better than the medicines, of course there are some drugs available for migraine but clinical examination is must prior to administer the drugs, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day
