Suggest Treatment For Severe Migraine Post Surgery

My daughter is 8 yrs old. She had her ASD REPAIRED 3 months ago at CHLA with a cath called the Gore Helix . Everything went fine. But since post-op she has been having severe migraine episodes. I called the cardiologist and they say it s only common for the first 2 weeks. Well, she s 3.5 minths post-op! Now she s getting referred to a neurologist?! She never had these migraines before her procedure. Please....any answers? Worried and nervous mother, Mai

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Migraine headache after per-cutaneous repair ASD is commonly seen in majority of patients. It is recovered within 2 months and at the most 12 months. Your patient is already 3 months past the surgery and she is being referred to neurologist. Consultation of neurologist. Let the check up be over followed up by specific medicines, it would help healing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
