Suggest Treatment For Severe Muscle Pain In The Arms

my 23 yr old son has started having severe muscle pain that started in arms, has moved to legs and now to abdomen over last two days. in morning he rates the pain at a 10. the more he moves around the less it hurts but when he stops moving it raises back to 6-7 pain rating. he went to urgent care but they only took blood tests that we need to wait for results

Hello,

Sever muscle ache is related to different illnesses if it's not related to any physical activity like exercise or accidents. I hope till the blood reports come, your doctor has suggested some pain relieving medicines for temporary relief so make sure your son is taking those on time. Ibuprofen helps in relieving the muscle pain but appropriate dosage should be taken.

I would suggest you see a rheumatologist with all the blood work up as it can be an autoimmune condition so there are few more diagnostic tests which help to find the underlying cause behind the severe pain. Once the reason for the pain is known your doctor will guide your son further with appropriate medical management.
