Cause of a nosebleed and a heavier volume of blood drainage? I m healthy, hydrated, and the weather here is cold but not dry. The past couple of nights, I ve also had the feeling that there was fluid in my lungs, but coughing didn t help. I m sleeping plenty, and only intake normal amounts of caffeine.. Maybe a couple cups of coffee a day, tops. I m also a 20 year old college student and athlete.
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. Most commonly the bleeding from nose can occur secondary to trauma to the nose. Trauma to the outside of the nose, such as a blow to the face, or trauma inside the nose, such as nose picking or repeated irritation from a cold, can cause a nosebleed. The other possible causes can be systemic disease like bleeding disorders, hypertension or drugs like aspirin or warfarin can induce bleeding from nose. Abnormal blood vessels or cancers in the nose are rare causes of nosebleeds. Consult an ENT surgeon and get it evaluated. If the bleeding is anterior nose bleed it can be treated with pressure and pack or cautery. If it is a posterior nasal bleed you need to consult a ENT surgeon and get it treated by surgical procedures under aseptic conditions. I hope i have answered your query. Take care.
