Suggest Treatment For Severe Nose Pain After An Accident

Hi Dr. Rynne my 15 year old daughter suffered a broken nose running into her friend at a haunted house. She was taken to ER examined and discharged. She has been using ice and orc pain meds. She just told me she felt a popping and her nose hurts worse. She took a dose of ibuprofen this morning and had a small decrease in her pain. Later I gave her naproxen in attempt to help with the pain. Her pain decreased a little more. She says every time she sits down the pain increases and is tolerable when standing. I just searched on the internet and saw not to give NSAIDS only tylenol. Is the popping normal because of the swelling pressure and healing process? The dr. told us she was lucky and could have had a severe break. Do I need to take her back to ER?

Hi,
It seems that she might be having some fracture in her small nasal bones giving this problem.
Go for x-ray nose to rule out fracture.
Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day for few days.
Meanwhile give some anti-inflammatory medicine for 2-3 days.
Ok and take care.
