Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Puss Formation In Ears

Hullo sir, good evening, I am Ravi, My mother was diabetic recently she got ear problem. After got examined by ENT doctors, some inner layer was damaged. We have used medicines worth Rs.8000/- in one of the famous hospital around vijayawada. But no use, finally they said surgery is to be done which costs Rs.25000/- plus medicine extra. But we are not able to meet that much money. I am private employe. My mother is suffering with heavy pain and puss forming everyday. Now, she is not able to take meal also. Please help me

Hi,

Diabetes causes a condition called malignant otitis in which the bone also gets infected causing a lot of pain and pus coming out wherein even medicines do not help much. Since you can not afford the treatment in private in India I will suggest you the following:
* Consult a diabetologist or a physician in Govt Medical college to get a good control of diabetes
* Consult an ENT Surgeon and insist for CT scan of mastoids
* Pus culture and sensitivity, gram staining and AFB staining for tuberculosis; all these will give better idea
* Consult a Senior ENT Surgeon and get operated
