Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Redness In The Anorectal Area

For for about 4 months now I have had pain with redness in the analrecal area.i have seen a gastroenterologist gave me creams that did not help. He suggested I go see a skin specialist. I am wondering if this is a good idea. No matter what I use the pain does not go away and if the pain does subside the redness is still there. Also the skin feels very soft and strange .

Hi

I have gone through your query, i will try to give you suggestion which will be helpful to you.
Your symptoms suggests you could be having a infection. As your doctor suggested consult a dermatologist for proper diagnosis. It has to be evaluated for fungal or bacterial infection. You may also need a biopsy of that area to rule out any malignancy. Meanwhile you can take painkillers for the pain relief.
I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. I will be glad to help you in case if you have any further queries.

Wish you speedy recovery. Take care.
