Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain At The Vaginal Opening

I am having excruciating pain in the opening to my vagina and all over the vulvar area. I went to the ob last week and had a uti, which I think is non related. when I get urine on my vulvar tissue, it burns and hurts so bad it makes me cry. I looked with a mirror, and there are white cyst/knots entering the vaginal area and all around the vulva. I m very scared and the doctor isn t open tomorrow.

Hi there

Your symptoms suggest a vaginal infection.

This could most likely be vaginal candidiasis, which appears as thick white and cheesy, on the walls of the vagina and labia and generally also as a discharge. The fungus caused the skin to be inflamed and tender and this is sometimes also associated with burning when urinating. This is treated with a topical antifungal ointment or if severe, oral antifungal tablets.

The other possibility is herpes. This is a virus that presents as fluid filled tiny blisters around the labia and vulva. This needs treatment with an antiviral drug. These lesions are very painful.

Other types of infections will have a malodorous discharge.
