Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain From 2nd Degree Lacerations After Child Birth

I gave birth 3 weeks ago and had 2nd degree lacerations. The pain subsided last week, but the past few days the pain came back and is getting worse. It is strong pressure, and sharp pain when I move, and it burns when I urinate. My lacerations were on my right and left labia. Do I have an infection?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Lacerations in the vagina and labia during childbirth can get infected. This may lead to severe pain, burning sensation and problem in passage of urine and stools.
I would suggest you to consult your OBGYN specialist for proper examination and treatment accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
