Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have pain in my hands. A dr. said I had osteoarthritis in my foot because I have a bone spur coming up between 2 bones so my PC assumes I have the same in my hands. I have had surgery for trigger finger and the hand dr. said that arthritis was putting pressure on the tendon. Never said what kind of arthritis. Now my have a little finger that will not go straight and my 1st knuckle on each hand is swollen and burns all the way through both index fingers. It hurts to bend my fingers and I cannot make a total fist with either hand. I have a very hard time opening lids or jars because I am losing strength. Could this be another kind of arthritis?
You are suggested to visit a GP, get physically examined & get all tests for arthritis (RF, CCP, ESR, CRP, ANA) done. Get assessed & confirmed, get treated at the earliest.
You can take NSAIDs, Naproxen or Combiflam when required. In the meantime do finger exercises, it will initially pain but the more exercises you do the better will be the healing process.
To do finger exercises you can take the help of a physiotherapist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
