Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Lower Right Chest Region When I Take Breath
I have severe pain in lower right chest region close to diaphragm & it is kind of present on the sides of stomach as well. The pain is felt only when i breathe in. I had hepatitis 3 years back but then the pain was different. At night the pain increases a lot and it becomes very difficult to breathe. It also pains in the right shoulders. Doctor over here advised me to take an X-Ray of chest. However it was normal. He has prescribed - Pan D Capsule & Ultracet to be taken twice a day for 5 days. Can you please try and tell what is it that I am having ?
Hello Thanks for your query. Your pain is of pleuritic in nature and surely it involves diaphragmatic pleura. It may be caused by GERD or other abdominal pathology which is causing irritation to diaphragm. I would suggest you to continue Pan D capsule twice daily in empty stomach for 1 more month along with an ultrasonography of upper abdomen to exclude upper abdominal patholgy and also you should have a repeat chest x-ray after 2 weeks because by that time something abnormal may arise on chest x-ray. Don't worry. Just relax, drink plenty of water daily and avoid spicy fast and fat containing food and go for the investigations which I have told you. Thank you. Regards Dr Arnab Maji
