General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Surely, such lumps are not related to hiatus hernia or ulcerative colitis.
Hence I can think about the following causes for such a lump as you have explained.
Localized lipoma.
Infected sebaceous cyst.
Small ventral hernia wherein fat is trapped.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
Clinical evaluation, examination by a General Surgeon can help a lot.
Confirmation by Ultrasonography of the abdominal wall.
Surgery may be needed to remove the lump or repair the hernia defect.
Continue treatment for ulcerative colitis as advised by your Gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
