Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Navel When Diagnosed With Ulcerative Colitis
Hi i have a small pea sized lump about 3 inches above and to the right of my naval. I have ulcerative colitis and have been told i have a small hiatus hernia. Is this lump related to these conditions or is it something at times and more frequently lately I get a severe pain in these area with an almost numb sensation which only ladt for less than a minute but scares me.
Surely, such lumps are not related to hiatus hernia or ulcerative colitis. Hence I can think about the following causes for such a lump as you have explained. Localized lipoma. Infected sebaceous cyst. Small ventral hernia wherein fat is trapped. This can be diagnosed by the following ways: Clinical evaluation, examination by a General Surgeon can help a lot. Confirmation by Ultrasonography of the abdominal wall. Surgery may be needed to remove the lump or repair the hernia defect. Continue treatment for ulcerative colitis as advised by your Gastroenterologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
