Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Abdominal Area

Can a hernia cause a sharp aching pain in your abdominal area if the hernia is located in the groin? My husband has been in an uncomfortable pain since he woke up, I thought he needed poop, so I ve given him laxatives, and nothing. He has been eating and drinking lots of water, but still in pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The cause of sharp pain in abdomen varies with a case of hernia. The details here are not available so far as location of pain and associated symptoms of vomiting is concerned.

Keeping in mind the provided input, I can suggest that there can be severe abdomen pain, if the hernia bowel loops are going to obstruct inside the hernia ring; the case would be associated with vomiting in routine cases.

Still if you will provide me further details, I can focus more precisely. It is recommended to call 911 for immediate assistance without any delay in his case.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
