Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Ankle And Stiffness In Calf Muscle

I had pain in front of left ankle and Monday. Had been and feet an hour or 2 on Saturday, mainly standing in one place. Then Monday am, walked 30 min on treadmill and strolled for about an hour Monday night (trick or treating). No extra exercise on Tuesday, pain was going away. Woke up Wednesday am with pain in my left calf like pretty strong pain/soreness from a muscle cramp. I did some calf stretches Wed. morning and felt quite a bit of stiffness in calf muscles.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Considering the history that the pain started following prolonged standing, it can be attributed to musculoskeletal injury.

Such injuries tend to aggravate due to exertion such as running on the treadmill, as mentioned in your post.

Symptomatic relief can be obtained by heat therapy, application of analgesic & muscle relaxant gel, intake of analgesics like Diclofenac + Pantoprazole.

If symptoms still persist, kindly consult your Physician for proper clinical examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Polash Sannigrahi, General & Family Physician
