Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Breastbone Area

A week ago I swallowed a piece of apple which hurt at the time and ever since I have had pain below the breastbone which is worse when I eat. I m guessing I ve scratched or bruised the esophagus. Do I need to get this checked out or will it take some time to heal?

Hi
Yes this looks that you have some gastritis or esophagistis.
If you are otherwise fine and you can eat and drink , you may try some over the counter antacid for this for few days before going to your doctor. Also avoid spicy and picked foods for some time .In hope this would heal .You may also use some acid suppressant drugs like Omeprazole.
However if it worsens or you feel sick , then you should talk to your doctor .
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
