Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Hip

65 year old male, non-smoker, non-drinker, 165 lbs, physically active. Trouble with bowel, about a year now, have to take a suppository to empty about every three days, bowel is soft, runny, also have leakage of bial at annis that tells me its time to move it out. Lower left back pain in hip area, about 2 years now, after bowel is out I notice small blood smears on tissue. Then starts all over again. What the heck is going on? Thanks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a neuropathic pain like sciatica or nerve compression.
As first line management you can take analgesics like gabapentin for pain relief.
If symptoms persist you can consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
