Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Legs And Hip
I m experiencing severe hip and leg pain, both. Originated months ago. Tried PT. MRI indicated spinal stenosis. I m 70. Aug 9 had L2 - L4 Laminectomy. Had two previous lower back surgeries. Second one fused L4 - L5, L5 - S1 with BAK cages. August surgery appeared to provide relief... Now the pain has returned, like I didn t have the Laminectomy.. Just completed two months of PT.. They say my muscles are very tight and lumpy.. Any ideas??? Thanks
Leg and hip pain can be coming from the spine and the nerves that come out at the lower back. On the other hand you will need to have a check to rule out spinal stenosis, this is the case especially if the pain is worse on going down stairs or going down hill and better on going up stairs or up hill and if you have numbness in the private area or problem with urine or bowel control.
Sometimes repeating MRI is needed to rule out spinal stenosis and if it is ruled out then simple muscular pain or nerve root pain is suspected and in these cases treatment consists on NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) and physiotherapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
